Setup Tips

Board Placement

The circuit board must sit flat inside the shell for the buttons to work properly.

Battery Position

Place the battery in the same direction it was installed in your original fob.

Transponder Chip

Some fobs have a small chip that must be transferred for the vehicle to start.

No. A replacement shell is only the outside case. Your original circuit board keeps the same programming

No. Replacement shells do not include a circuit board, battery, or programming chip unless clearly stated on the product page

Most shells need to move the circuit board, battery, rubber buttons, and sometimes the emergency key blade or small transponder chip.

Usually the circuit board is not seated all the way down, the buttons are not lined up, or the battery is facing the wrong direction

Some keys have a small transponder chip inside the old shell. If that chip is not moved into the new shell, the car may not start

Sometimes, yes. It depends on the shell style. If the original blade fits the new shell, you may be able to transfer it

Test the lock/unlock buttons first. Once everything works, then close the shell fully
